Ash Dieback Treatment

tree reduction by Gloucester tree surgeon

Before

Our recent project involved reducing 3 large Ash trees in a residential garden in Gloucester. The trees became a risk due to having Ash dieback, a common disease amongst Ash trees that can cause large limbs to become frail and fall.

The trees had to be carefully reduced in sections using specialist climbing and rope equipment.

Alder Tree Reduction

Before

One recent project involved carrying out a reduction of a mature alder tree at a residential property in Cheltenham. The tree was located very close to the house, with branches extending toward a neighbouring driveway and a public footpath running alongside the property.

The homeowner needed access to the front of the property to carry out building work but did not want the tree to be removed entirely. Instead, we carried out a carefully planned reduction, reducing the overall size of the tree while maintaining its health and natural shape.

Due to the tree’s location near both neighbouring property and a public footpath, the work required careful planning. Our team used professional techniques to safely control how branches were removed and lowered to the ground.

We also ensured the footpath remained safe for pedestrians throughout the work, temporarily managing the area while branches were being lowered.

This type of controlled tree reduction in Cheltenham is one of the specialist services we regularly provide.Once the reduction was completed, the tree was left balanced, healthy and significantly reduced in size, allowing the homeowner to carry out the required property work while preserving the tree.

All debris was removed and the site was left clean and tidy.

Laylandii Removal

Before

One recent project involved the removal of a Leylandii tree at a residential property in Tewkesbury.

The tree had grown too large for its location and the homeowner wanted it removed to create more space in the garden. After assessing the site and surrounding area, our team safely removed the tree and carefully brought it down in a controlled manner.

The photos above show the tree standing before the work began and then safely on the ground once it had been felled.

After

Once the tree had been removed, our team processed the branches and timber using a professional wood chipper. The resulting woodchip is recycled for use in biomass and other sustainable applications, ensuring that waste from the job is handled responsibly.

After the tree was removed and processed, the area was fully cleared and left clean and tidy.

Ash Tree Reduction

Before

One recent project involved carrying out pruning work on a mature ash tree at a residential property in Stroud.

Over time, the tree had grown significantly and several branches had extended into the neighbouring garden, beginning to cause disruption. The homeowner wanted the tree to be reduced and reshaped while preserving it, rather than removing it completely.

After

Our team carried out a carefully planned crown reduction, selectively cutting back branches to maintain a balanced and healthy shape while reducing the overall spread of the canopy.

Particular attention was given to the branches extending toward the neighbouring property. These were carefully pruned back to reduce encroachment and maintain good relations between neighbours, while still preserving the natural form of the tree.

Using professional climbing and rope techniques, the work was carried out safely and efficiently, with branches lowered in a controlled manner to avoid any damage to the garden below.

Once the pruning work was complete, the tree was left well-shaped, healthy and better suited to its surroundings, and all debris was removed from the site.

Malvern Tree Reductions

Before

One recent project involved removing several trees at a property situated on the Malvern Hills. Over time the trees had grown and begun to obstruct the natural view from the house across the surrounding landscape.

The homeowner wanted to restore the view while carefully managing the trees within the garden. After assessing the site, our team safely carried out the removal of the selected trees, working carefully due to the hillside location and surrounding garden.

After

Using professional cutting and rigging techniques where required, the trees were safely brought down and processed on site.

All branches were fed through a professional wood chipper, with the resulting woodchip repurposed for biomass and other sustainable uses. Larger sections of timber were cut into logs suitable for firewood, ensuring that the material from the trees could be reused rather than going to waste.

Once the work was completed, the area was fully cleared and the property was able to regain its view across the Malvern Hills, while the garden was left clean and tidy.

Leylandii Tree Removal

Before

One recent project involved the removal of a Leylandii tree at a property in the Cotswolds.

The tree had grown significantly over time and was blocking a large amount of natural light into the garden, leaving the space feeling shaded and enclosed. The customer decided that full removal was the best option to open up the garden and improve overall usability.

After

We carried out a careful sectional dismantling of the Leylandii, removing the tree safely and efficiently while working within the surrounding garden space.

Due to the density of Leylandii, the job produced a large volume of material. All branches were processed on site, with woodchip repurposed for biomass and sustainable use, and larger log left on site for firewood.

Once the work was completed, the garden was noticeably brighter, more open, and far more enjoyable to use, with a significant increase in natural light.

Magnolia Tree Removal

Before

One recent project involved the removal of a magnolia tree at a residential property in Ross-on-Wye.

The tree had become too large for its position in the garden and the homeowner decided it was best to remove it to create more space and allow more light into the surrounding area.

Our team safely carried out the tree removal using professional climbing and cutting techniques, carefully dismantling the tree and lowering sections to the ground in a controlled manner to avoid any damage to the surrounding garden.

After

Once the magnolia tree had been removed, we carried out stump grinding to remove the remaining stump below ground level. This allowed the area to be fully cleared and made ready for future landscaping or planting.

All branches and timber were removed from the site and processed responsibly, and the garden was left clean, tidy and ready for use once the work was completed.

Leylandii Tree Removal

tree removal Ledbury

Before

One recent project involved the removal of a Leylandii tree at a property in Ledbury.

The tree had grown to a size where removal was the best option, and due to its position within the garden, it required a controlled and precise approach to ensure it was safely directed during felling.

We carried out a ground-based felling using rope support, allowing us to carefully guide the direction of the fall and maintain full control throughout the process.

After

This method ensured the Leylandii was removed safely and efficiently, with no impact on the surrounding garden or nearby features.

Due to the density of Leylandii, a large volume of material was produced. All waste was processed on site, with woodchip repurposed for biomass and sustainable use, and the area left clean and tidy once the work was complete.

Lime Tree Reduction

Before

One recent project involved carrying pollarding a lime tree at a residential property in Cirencester.

Over time the tree had developed a dense canopy and some uneven growth, and the homeowner wanted to reduce and reshape the tree while keeping it healthy and well maintained.

After

Our team carried out a carefully planned reduction, selectively pruning branches to improve the overall shape of the tree and encourage healthier, more balanced growth.

By carefully reducing and shaping the tree rather than removing it, the lime tree was able to retain its natural character while becoming better suited to its position in the garden.

Using professional climbing techniques, the work was completed safely and efficiently. All branches were removed from the site and the garden was left clean and tidy once the work was complete.
